Gia Allemand dead at 29: Former 'Bachelor' contestant dies of apparent suicide by hanging

'Bachelor' star Gia Allemand has died at age 29.

Former Bachelor star Gia Allemand died at the age of 29 after committing suicide by hanging herself, TMZ reports.
Gia's boyfriend Ryan Anderson - who has released a statement on the tragic news - is said to have discovered her body hanging and unconcscious in her home and immediately called 911.
In a statement today, NBA player Ryan has payed tribute to his girlfriend saying: 'Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed.'

Following the 911 emergency call, Gia was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans on Monday where she was put on life support.
On Tuesday she remained in hospital unconscious in critical condition and on continued life support.
It was on Wednesday that life support was withdrawn after her condition failed to improve, and her family released a statement confirming that she had died.
TMZ have also claimed that Gia has been 'upset about a rocky relationship with her boyfriend Ryan Anderson'.
However, Gia was frequently posting happy photos of herself with Ryan, most recently a shot of the pair in Las Vegas at the end of last month.

Allemand had been dating NBA player Ryan Anderson.

In his statement, Ryan said: 'I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans.'
Adding: 'All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared.'
Gia's family confirmed the news of her death in an earlier statement, saying: 'Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today,' a statement from her family read.

'Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites.
'Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets.'
Her family say a funeral for the reality star will take place in due course, with further details released at a later date.

'Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming in another official statement once available,' the statement continued.
'On behalf of the family, we sincerely ask for privacy at this time.'
Gia almost made it to the finale on the Jake Pavelka season of the hit ABC show The Bachelor, losing out to Vienna Girardi.
Jake has already reacted to the the news of his former co-star's passing, tweeting: 'I had to pull over, I can't stop crying. We have lost an angel.'
Last night he posted a message, asking people to pray for her: 'Please pray for @GiaAllemand... A dear friend and one of the sweetest women I know... #powerofprayer.'

He's often seen showing off his torso by going shirtless, especially of late.
But Justin Bieber shocked his family when he did the full monty during a bizarre nude prank at his grandmother's house in Toronto during Canadian Thanksgiving back in October 2012.
In photos obtained by TMZ, the 19-year-old is seen covering his private parts merely with an acoustic guitar, jamming out a naked serenade for his granny, Diane Dale.

Nude Justin was staying at his grandmother's home in Toronto when the strange incident went down.
According to the website, Justin had been enjoying a break at her home during the holiday and slept in a little too late on Thanksgiving morning.
Finally waking up after hearing family and friends stirring around the house, he thought he'd play a prank on the unsuspecting clan by grabbing his guitar and playing the naked set.
The pop star went right up to his grandmother and started belting out some impromptu lyrics, singing: 'I Loooove you grandmaaaa ... how are youuuu ... helloooo grandma.

While his family and friends were laughing, his giggling granny begged the pop star to get back in his room to put some clothes on.

'Anybody else's kids have done the same thing but nobody says anything.'

The second half of Breaking Bad series 5 is finally with us. The bad news ? It's the last one.

Ever since “The Sopranos” ended on a slyly ambiguous note that kept viewers deconstructing it for weeks, shows with artistic ambition cannot come to a mere close. There has to be a finish so big it sets off a tsunami of second-guessing. Once upon a time fans didn’t want their favorite series to end; now audiences clamor for a denouement they can debate forever.

People are already discussing the end of “Mad Men,” and the penultimate season concluded in June: there is an entire season to get through before the curtain falls on Don Draper and his cohorts.
And that kind of anticipation sets the bar pretty high for “Breaking Bad,” the hit AMC series that has seven more episodes to go but is already awash in premature post-mortems. In this era of binge viewing, audiences feel the need to purge — the blogosphere is clogged with comments, communion and speculation.

Anticipation is running so high that the show’s creators split the final 16-episode season into two parts. The first half left off last September with a kind of pre-ending: while on the toilet, the Drug Enforcement Administration agent Hank (Dean Norris) at long last realized that his meek, science teacher brother-in-law, Walt (Bryan Cranston), was the drug lord known as Heisenberg.

Sunday’s episode, technically the ninth but in spirit a premiere of the second half of Season 5, picks up the story with a flash forward that echoes that of the actual premiere of Season 5 in July 2012.

It’s about a year after Hank stumbled on the truth, and Walt has morphed again: he has a fake identity, his hair has grown in, his beard is bushy, he wears black-rimmed glasses and has returned to Albuquerque in a car with a New Hampshire license plate (“Live Free or Die”) and a machine gun in the trunk.

It’s not clear what happened to his wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn), his children or his cancer recurrence, but his old house is boarded up and chained, the abandoned pool used by teenagers as a skateboard rink. When his old neighbor sees him in the driveway, she stares, frozen with disbelief and terror, holding a bag of groceries. “Hello, Carol,” he says. The bag slips from her hands and her groceries fall to the ground.

And then the story goes back to where it left off a little more than a year ago, moments after Hank finally saw through Walt’s deception.

The series never traveled too far from where it all began: chemistry. In the very first episode, in 2008, Walt was still teaching high school science and didn’t yet know about the lung cancer that would kick off his criminal career. He told his students — the few who were listening — that chemistry is the “science of change” and broke life down to its essence: “It is growth, then decay, then transformation.”

In the years since, “Breaking Bad” has traced the growth of Walt’s empire, its decay and most of all his transformation. Throughout, one thing never changed: Crime didn’t pay.



Killers and liars don’t suffer immediate consequences in shows like “The Sopranos” or “Deadwood” or even “Dexter,” and plenty of bad deeds go unpunished. Cable shows have license to be transgressive, and that means flouting the mores that usually guides broadcast network shows.

For all its audacity, “Breaking Bad” was a throwback to a more elemental code of morality. There is a puritanical lesson to Walt’s life: he becomes a master criminal and ruthless killer with very little to show for it.

Just when you thought the party was over, Rihanna once again emerges and outdoes herself.
After revelling until the early hours of the morning at the Crop Over Festival Foreday Morning Jam in Barbados on Saturday, the 25-year-old was right back at it again on Monday.
This time, the Diamonds singer was seen sipping out of a hip flask as she danced on a float during the Kadooment carnival, part of the eight day festival.

And she once again trumped the revealing nature of the sheer white monokini she wore over the weekend.
This time, the controversial star displayed plenty of cleavage in a traditional carnival-style bejewelled two-piece, featuring a low-cut top and a high-cut bottom.
The fun-loving star paired the ensemble with a matching necklace, feathered shin guards and headpiece, as well as two cuffs around her wrists and a smattering of diamantes applied to the side of her face.

Her look was completed by a pair of fishnet tights and a pair of Adidas trainers on her feet.
Rihanna wore shimmering silver hues for make-up and shielded her eyes with a pair blue-tinted sunglasses.
The singer was joined by several other similarly scantily-clad women, including her best pal Melissa Forde, on the float as she revelled in the sunshine.
And she was once again accompanied by her dutiful bodyguard who was also forced to babysit her from midnight till 6AM as she 'dutty wined' at the festival on Saturday.

While she is in her hometown, the singer was taking no chances when she was joined by two of her bodyguards on Saturday morning as she partied it up in the island's capital Bridgetown.
Much like on Monday, Rihanna's bodyguard had the arduous task of watching her party all night - drink in hand - rather raucously.
The singer had once again looked typically striking in her nearly sheer white monokini, decorated with sparkling metallic panels.

Green face paint, blue and silver sunglasses, Converse sneakers and a white veil over her new short curly hairdo completed the look.

Anthony Weiner's sexting partner has stripped down for the public as she filmed a video for a major porn distributor.
Sydney Leathers poses provocatively in a five-minute clip of the video, and talks about her virtual relationship with the disgraced congressman.
'He would always compliment me on my breasts and my butt and my feet, and he would always tell me I was the perfect height to wear heels,' the 23-year-old said.

In the video, created by porn production company Vivid, Leathers is seen disrobing from various lingerie sets and displaying the assets that many feel cost Weiner his latest redemption bid.
Weiner is still in the race to become New York City's next mayor, but his poll numbers have plummeted dramatically after it became clear that he continued having sexting relationships even after he left Congress in 2011 following the accidental Twitter picture he posted of his genitals.
Leathers came out with the naked pictures and screen grabs of their explicit conversations two weeks ago.
She has made a number of appearances since, talking at length about her affair with the married father.

There were a number of clues that Leathers would be baring all in a sex tape, as she was seen last week meeting with Steve Hirsch, the head of production company Vivid.
It is unclear how much she is being paid for the video, but Vivid has been known to pay up for high-profile tapes. Teen Mom Farah Abraham was reportedly paid 'high six figures' for her sex tape and they are the same company that bought Kim Kardashian's sex tape with Ray J.

He is best known for playing a foul-mouthed spin doctor. Now Peter Capaldi has become one who travels in time and space.
Capaldi, the bullying Malcolm Tucker in political satire The Thick Of It, was last night unveiled as the 12th actor to play the lead role in Doctor Who.
The Scottish star had been the odds-on favourite to become the next inhabitant of the Tardis, and it appears the result may have been known three days ago, when a flurry of bets led to bookmakers suspending betting on him and lowering his odds from 40-1 to 5-6.

They now stand to lose around £100,000.
Joe Crilly, a spokesman for William Hill, said: ‘We have seen people trying to back Peter Capaldi as much as possible at every price available.’
That raised questions last night about whether someone at the BBC had leaked the name – despite the corporation going to great lengths to keep the identity of the new Time Lord a secret in an operation it had codenamed Houdini.
But while 55-year-old Capaldi was favourite to win with punters, others were not so enthralled by the decision.

His official unveiling during a live programme on BBC1 led many on Twitter to ask if he is too old to play the role.
The actor is the same age as William Hartnell was when he became the first Doctor in 1963.
Some users on the social networking site described his announcement as ‘exciting’ and ‘perfect’, but others were more critical – one wrote: ‘Peter Capaldi is not attractive because he’s old’, while another posted: ‘I’m not watching Doctor Who any more. Peter Capaldi is too old.’
Some 400 Doctor Who fans, some dressed as their favourite characters, were in the audience last night to see the announcement.

Capaldi, who appeared in a 2008 episode of the series alongside tenth Doctor David Tennant, told presenter Zoe Ball of his excitement at taking on the role.
‘It’s so wonderful not to keep this secret any longer,’ he said. ‘For a while I couldn’t tell my daughter who kept on looking on the internet and kept seeing people saying so and so should be the Doctor and she got rather upset.
‘But it has been absolutely fantastic in its own way, so many wonderful things have been happening.
