Erin was born and raised in Cairns, North Queensland, until at the age of 17 she followed her dreams to Sydney, where she took up a scholarship at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Describing herself as vibrant, outgoing and hard working, Erin hopes to one day be a leading lady on Broadway. Classically trained, Erin is a highly skilled singer, clarinet player and saxophonist. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga and reading, she likes Asian Cuisine and she is an ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

"Hello from Australia!!

My name is Erin Holland, and I was born and raised in sunny Cairns, Far North Queensland - known of course by many for the beautiful Great Barrier Reef! At 17, I moved to Sydney (home of the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge!!) to study voice on scholarship at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Upon graduating,

I now work in the industry as singer, presenter, dancer and model. I am known for working extremely hard and I definitely don't like having days off! In my free time, I love catching up with friends, watching a football game or trying out as many restaurants as possible around Sydney.

I have always endeavoured to be involved in charitable organisations wherever possible - My main focus this year has been disadvantaged children. Such organisations I have been raising funds for include The Lilla Community (Indigenous Outreach Program near Uluru, Australia's Red Centre), and Children's First Foundation. The most important thing I have learnt is that no matter our situation, there is always something we can do to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate."

Miss World Australia 2013, Erin Victoria Holland

Miss World Australia 2013 is 24 year-old and 1.77m tall Erin Holland. She was crowned during the finale of the event on July 20 at the Mansion Hotel in Werribee, Victoria beating 32 other contestants. Erin is an opera singer and is currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music . She will be representing her country at Miss World 2013 pageant to be held in Indonesia on September 28. Natalia Kalinowski won second place and Yasmin Kassim finished third place.

Erin Brady won last night's 2013 Miss USA contest in Las Vegas and the stunning brunette stole the hearts of both the judges and the viewers.
The newly titled beauty queen hails from Connecticut and proved that "she's beauty and she's grace."
So what is there to know about the reigning winner? We've compiled five facts that you need to know about Miss Brady.

1. She's More Than a Pretty Face: The 25-year-old is a practicing financial accountant for Prudential Financial in South Glastonbury, Conn., and has always been math-oriented. She graduated with a degree in finance at Central Connecticut State University and minored in criminal justice.

2. She'd Win a Cooking Competition: She recently revealed that she loves to cook, saying to Huffington Post, "If there were a talent portion to the competition in Las Vegas, I would make my turkey meatballs with homemade tomato sauce."

3. She Has Faced Struggles: The pageant queen has been open about her struggles with alcoholism in her family and hopes to become an advocate for children who are raised in similar situations.

Erin Brady wins Miss USA 2013 as Miss Connecticut

Miss Connecticut Erin Brady was crowned the 2013 Miss USA on Sunday.

The 25-year-old beauty queen beat out 50 other contestants, including first runner-up Mary Margaret McCord of Alabama, to win the highly-coveted title.

Miss Alabama Mary Margaret McCord almost won the top title at Sunday's Miss USA 2013 pageant.
She modeled a swimsuit and evening wear, advanced to the final six contestants and answered an interview question about government tracking of phone records.
In the final moments of the pageant, she and Miss Connecticut Erin Brady were the last contestants standing.

Brady got the crown. McCord, a University of Alabama graduate student from Gadsden, was first runner-up.
Miss USA winner Brady "is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in finance and a minor in criminal justice," according to her bio on the Miss USA website.
It adds, "Erin was raised in a home heavily influenced by alcohol and substance abuse and she sadly remembers the lack of support and places to turn to for the children of addicts...It is her goal to help break the cycle of addiction as she plans to be an advocate for children of alcohol and substance abuse." Miss USA 2013, the 62nd Miss USA pageant, was held on June 16, 2013 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner will represent the United States at Miss Universe 2013. The outgoing titleholder of Miss USA 2012, Nana Meriwether of Maryland, will crown her successor at the end of the event. The 50 states and the District of Columbia will compete for the prestigious title and the pageant will be televised live on NBC and webcast on Xbox Live.
Viewers can interact with the pageant via Twitter, Xbox SmartGlass and Zeebox. Xbox Live's webcast will also feature poll questions that are tabulated in real-time during the pageant. Fans were able to vote for their favorite contestant through the Miss USA website, from May 15 to June 15. The winner of this fan vote will win a semifinalist spot in the pageant on the final night. It was Miss Texas, Alexandria Nugent.

Miss Universe Canada 2013 made ugly mistake, crowns wrong winner

TORONTO - Hours after Denise Garrido was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2013, then 1st runner-up Riza Santos, a Filipino-Canadian, was declared the real winner after A Beauties Of Canada' (BOC) Production found out that a human error took place during the coronation ceremony.

In a statement published at the Miss Universe Canada official website, the BOC Production corrected the unfortunate and awkward coronation of Denise Garrido held last May 25 at the St. Lawrence Center for the Arts in Toronto, Canada. Below is the complete statement:

MISS UNIVERSE CANADA 2013 FINAL RESULTS
The 2013 Miss Universe Canada pageant took place on Saturday, May 25 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts in Toronto. During the validation of the computerized scoring results (which occurs the following day), a typo was discovered in the top 5 entries, which significantly impacted the final results of the competition. This is the first instance of this type of error in the 11 years that Beauties of Canada (BOC) has produced the Miss Universe Canada pageant.

This is an unfortunate circumstance where a human error was made, and in such a situation, as difficult as it is, it is only right to correct the error. Therefore, the official results of Miss Universe Canada 2013 are as follows:

Miss Universe Canada 2013 ­ Riza Santos (Calgary, AB)
1st runner-up ­ Siera Bearchell (Moose Jaw, SK)
2nd runner-up ­ Diana Martin (Mississauga, ON)

New Miss universe canada 2013 is Denise Garrido

26-year old Denise Garrido from Bradford, Ontario, was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2013 during the 11th edition of the pageant held in Toronto on May 25th.

Standing 1.76 m in height, Denise holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and has a degree in Biomedical Sciences with Cum Laude distinction. Her parents are portuguese/brazilian.

Denise is not new to the ‘Grand Slam’ scene; in 2010 she represented Canada in the Miss World competition held in Sanya, China, where she placed as a semi-finalist.

The 1st runner-up was Riza Santos and the 2nd runner-up was Sierra Bearchell. Michelle McKay and Diana Martin.
