Sophie Moulds, a 19 year-old university student from Ferndale, was crowned Miss Wales 2012 in Cardiff, on April 14, 2012. She will represent Wales in Miss World 2012, in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, on August 18.

Courtenay is a classical music singer and her dream is to perform professionally. Courtenay plays the Harp and Piano. She is the youngest ever welsh speaking Arctic Explorer and strives for adventure. Personal Motto: ‘Plus est en vous’ – There is more in you.

Music - The French opera 'Carmen' by Georges Bizet. Book - Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
What is the proudest moment of your life or most memorable day?
Whilst volunteering as an outdoor pursuits instructor at a center designed specifically for disabled and disadvantaged children. I lead a session teaching a group of blind school children to Kayak. The sense of achievement amongst the children was overwhelming.

I am optimistic, creative and forward-thinking young woman who's aspiration and energy for life are boundless. I strive for adventure!
Favourite food ?
Sushi.
Do you have any pets ?
I have many. A dog, snake, rabbits and a guinea pig.
Future ambitions ?
To sing professionally in oder to make classical music more accessible to the younger generation, enthusing them with a fresher more exciting outlook on an already well established genre.
Special Talents ?
I have the ability to entertain and engage people through the medium of song, giving them an insight into the rich musical culture and heritage of my country.
Tell us a little something about your Country ?
The land of song and a welcome in the hillside. Its a country of craggy summits and beautiful lush valleys cloaked in history, myths and legends.
Any other interesting facts ?
I am a volunteeer boat captain for the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).
