The Twilight star displayed her slender legs in denim shorts paired with a white vest and short-sleeved blue-striped shirt for her outing.
Kristen kept it casual in black trainers and wore a pair of trendy tortoiseshell reading glasses.
She wore her red hair long and curly over her one shoulder and kept her makeup natural, showcasing her clear, porcelain complexion.
Kristen was seen gently carrying the black dog as she walked along the pavement alone.
She was then spotted a little later without the pooch as she stood outside a restaurant, perhaps waiting for somebody.
The star bore her trademark surly expression, appearing annoyed as she stood self-consciously with her arms crossed in the front.
Kristen was taking a break from shooting Camp X-Ray, about a young army recruit who is sent to work at Guantanamo Bay.
Kristen's character Cole finds her self struggling to cope with her assignment to the detention centre, expecting she would be deployed to a war zone.
Of course, little does she know that Camp X Ray is its own war zone as she tries to negotiate her feelings towards the detainees and their treatment, as well as her own treatment at the hands of other American recruits.
While serving in the prison she befriends a man who has been imprisoned there for eight years.
The film, which is set to be released next year, also stars Prison Break actor Lane Garrison and rising star Tara Holt.
